Today I have been mostly….making Easter tags! Yes I know it’s today but luckily they aren’t needed until much later in the day’s proceedings. Wanted to make some little personalised tags to go with the choccies I’d got for my nieces and nephew.
Blimey they took FOREVER to do 😩 Laura Bassen makes ink blending look soooo easy and all I seem to do is get into an extraordinary mess.
Stamped the little party chicks from Mama Elephant Party Animals set and a balloon from the MFT Somebunny set. The tag, little hearts and tiny bow are all from the Mama Elephant basic die set.
After masking the chicks off I blended lines of distress ink across Bristol smooth card, and that’s where I got super inked up 😊 Was huge fun though, despite the fact I should have been studying for an exam instead of playing.
I coloured some card and added glitter so the hearts are a glittery window.
They’re so darn cute! Finished off by glossing up the balloons in lashings of glossy accents.
Thanks for looking and I wish you and yours a peaceful and blessed Easter.
Mama Elephant: Three Amigos is such a versatile set. The critters are great and easy to colour and there’s a huge range of words and sentiments you can put on their cards.
I’ve coloured this with distress reinkers again and am enjoying learning how to use them. Mama Elephant Femme Frames dies have been used to create the stitched border and i’ve mounted the scallop edge on some foam to make a raised frame.
Wondered if it was too plain, but didn’t want to overwork it.
Thanks for looking.
Couldn’t wait to get hold of the MFT Friends Furever stamp set, love love love that teddy! Really great sentiments in this set too. Ordered from Clair & Sharni Matthews’ new shop Get Crafty and highly recommend them, their prices are competitive and delivery was very quick.
I’ve blended some distress ink on a piece of Langton watercolour card, masking off ted and woofer with some Schmincke masking fluid which worked an absolute treat. I’d treated myself to some distress ink reinkers and this is my first foray into colouring with the more intense colour of the pure ink. L-O-V-E-D it, just as I knew I would! I’m a huge fan of Annette’s colouring with them and also Becky’s gorgeous creations and have been avidly studying their cards for eternity, finally I took the plunge and bought some. As it’s on watercolour paper, there’s an added benefit of stealing some of the paper’s texture to help create a wooly looking teddy. He looks almost as if he’s made from chenille on the real card.
I’m so pleased with it, and have entered into the following challenges:
Creatilicious – Anything Goes
Stamping Sensation – Anything Goes
Thanks for looking.
I’ve recently branched into ink pads of different types and makes and am really enjoying using them. Whilst I don’t have many (yet), i’ve been twiddling and fiddling around stamping this that and the other with them and learning how they react to different stamp types and paper types.
I bought the little floral Clearly Besotted silhouette set Heartfelt Thanks and hadn’t had much luck with the distress inks, so bought a couple of super de-duper cheap Versacolor cubes just to have a play. And what fun it was!
Close up it doesn’t look much, but it was such a lot of fun playing with the pads that I now want every single ink pad ever made in the world.
I’ve entered this into the Crafty Sentiments Flowers challenge for some fun.
Thanks for looking.
I’ve been desperate to try my hand at a little watercolouring for a long time now. My mum loved to paint and I wanted to put her stash of watercolours to use. Having watched a gazillion of Debby Hughes’ videos over at Lime Doodle Design (literally swoon at her colouring) and Kristina Werner’s on her design blog (more swooning) I felt adequately video’d up to make an attempt. I’ve made an envelope to use with my Bunny Birthday card, using the same stamp set.
As a first attempt I’m really pleased with it! The background has been blended with Distress Inks and the trees, bunny and flowers watercoloured. Oh my, that little project taught me a lot! I’ve got the bug though……more to come methinks 💕
We woke up to rather an amazing sight this morning – 80 odd air balloons passing by the house kind of amazing. Enthusiasts were attempting to break the record for the most number of hot air balloons crossing the English channel at the same time. It was a pretty special thing to see and I got lots of pictures while they gracefully bobbed by.
If every day started with a scene like this I think i’d be very happy indeed!
Have a great day.
Have been trying my hand at shaker cards and am really pleased with how this turned out. Bunny is from MFT Somebunny set coloured with copics. I’ve used the MFT Happy Birthday To You die to create the shaker window – really love this die, can make a card so quickly using it. There are lots of lovely sequins inside making it sparkle against a blended distress ink background. Cut out using the stitched frame from Mama Elephant Basic Die set.
Have also tried my hand at making a photo tent to take better pictures. Being tight and not wanting to spend loads of money on it (money is for craft supplies right??!) I only bought the smallest sheets of foam board. Should have gone for the bigger size as it’s turned out a little on the small side, so it’s teeny cards only for the time being!
For a bit of fun i’ve entered into a few card challenges, which isn’t something i’ve had chance to do before. Enjoyed looking at the inspiring makes from others in the following challenges, and have entered my bunny card:

So Blogger was causing me a whole host of problems….WordPress it is then. Here’s the old fluffy blogger site, which pretty much started giving me grief from the word go. I mostly use a blog as a one stop shop to all my favourite bloggers and not to showcase my own work, primarily because I get so little crafting actually completed, but there will be the occasional picture of stuff wot I done if only to record it for all eternity. So to kick it off, here’s a pin cushion I made for a special lady’s birthday using a gorgeous Lorna Bateman embroidery kit.
